Our Bloodstained Roof

4/5 – A Nice Simple Tale

One day some geese fall out of the sky and land on the roof of a boy and his family. The dad doesn’t want to bury the geese, so the kids set out on their own. This comic is complete. It’s also currently up for an Eisner award, the full list of candidates is available here: http://www.comic-con.org/awards/will-eisner-comic-industry-award-nominees-2013. I’ll be reviewing all of the webcomics there – this is the third.

What’s Awesome About It?
First of all, this comic is pretty short, so there’s not as much to discuss as for your typical webcomic. That said, it has simple, elegant art, and tells a nice, simple story that’s entertaining. Just a tale about life told in an entertaining way that sort of gets you thinking a bit. The visuals and panel composition are also very well done, making for a pleasing reading experience overall.

My Thoughts
This comic is very well done technically, and given its short length (shouldn’t take more than five or ten minutes to get through) I’d definitely recommend giving it a read if you at all like slice-of-life stories.
