4.5/5- Definitely great for all fans of RPG’s

Premise

Guilded Age is a webcomic that follows an adventuring party in a world that’s inspired by a combination of tabletop games like Dungeons and Dragons and MMORPG’s like World of Warcraft.  Has some blood and gore as well as a little bit of swearing.

What’s Awesome About It?

There are a lot of good points for Guilded Age.  For one, the art is quite high quality, being fully colored and well done in a relatively stylized manner.  The comic also consistently updates five times per week.  The comic also has a cast of well-developed and fun characters which sometimes play into standard fantasy tropes (the wise old man, the cocky adventurer), but at other times subverts them (the barbarian hates going into rage and actually fears it).  There is also decently clever or plot relevant hover text on each of the pages.

My Thoughts

I personally am in love with Guilded Age.  I think that the great writing for the characters and setting mixed with the great art and my love of RPG’s made this a no-brainer for me.  I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who plays tabletop rpg’s, computer rpg’s, or even just enjoys fantasy fiction.  It is definitely a good read.
