Virtual Shackles

2/5- Like Penny Arcade, but not quite as good

Virtual Shackles is a video game gag strip about two game designers.  It usually updates two times per week.

What Makes It Awesome

This comic definitely has some solid humorous gag strips that pertain to video games.  However, the jokes are always extremely contemporary to when they come out, so they don’t age particularly well.

My Thoughts

The comic ends up reading a lot like the older Penny Arcade comics (pre-2004).  The thing is, I am not a particularly big fan of this style as it doesn’t age well and a lot of the jokes really end up falling flat.  If you really do enjoy all kinds of video game gag comics, then give this a try.  Otherwise it isn’t really worth the time for reading.
