Premise
Zen Pencils is a comic project that involves the author taking quotes from various famous people that he finds inspirational and then placing the words of the quote over illustrations that he feels fit to the content of the quote.  It updates once a week.

What Makes It Awesome
Zen Pencils is very different from normal webcomics in that it doesn’t go for humor or plot lines, but rather simple comic illustrations of inspirational quotes.  Despite this, however, the author manages to often times adapt these quotes into self-contained stories.  His art style is also interesting as it is very cartoony with a somewhat newsprint inspired color palette, giving the feeling of it being somewhat more of a traditional newspaper comic.

My Thoughts
My experience with Zen Pencils is that it is legitimately a very rewarding read.  By the skillful combination of great quotes and amusing, yet poignant art works together to make easily the most motivational webcomic on the internet.  I can’t recommend this comic more highly to anyone who is having a motivational crisis, wants to be cheered up, or simply is interested in reading a more interesting kind of webcomic.
