Happle Tea

Happle

Rating: 4/5- Very Clever Mythological Humor

Premise
Happle Tea is a gag strip that follows a young boy named Lil K who lives with his adopted father, Sasquatch, and frequently interacts with various fantastical, mythological, and religious figures.  It is supposed to update twice per week, but as of this review, updates have been inconsistent.

What Makes It Awesome
The comic has quite a few genuinely funny comics that either poke fun at modern society with fairy tale or mythological characters or simply does jokes that rely on the qualities of the fantastical characters.  The comic does feature several comics with religious characters, especially the Christian God in the form of a cat and poke fun at various religions, so if you are offended by such things, this comic is best avoided.  The art is also very interesting in its liberal usage of very vibrant colors.

My Thoughts
I think that, for the most part, this comic is very funny and well put together.  The use of various mythological creatures generates a good bit of unique humor, but often the more commentary focused strips fall flat in my opinion and drag the comic down somewhat.  I do recommend this comic to those who are familiar with mythology and who aren’t offended by political or religious humor.
