The Prince and the Pooper

Prince51

Rating: 2.5/5 – Pretty much what you’d expect from a comic with poop in the title.

Premise
Two slacker friends are walking through the woods when they find a crashed spaceship. One of them drinks an alien liquid and decides he’s the messiah. Hijinks ensue.

What’s Awesome About It?
The Prince and the Pooper has decent, if slightly claustrophobic, art and solid writing in the characterization department – you definitely get the sense that the two main characters are good friends trying to support each other through a weird situation. The comedy is ok – it’s mildly amusing, lowbrow humor that, despite its seemingly outlandish premise feels highly clichéd and unexciting. There are your typical stabs at toilet humor and “Oh look, the Pope’s into BDSM and is evil, how wacky!” but that just seems like the low-hanging fruit of the comedy world.

My Thoughts
I think the comic definitely has potential to either escalate its comedic premise and introduce more humorous situations or to develop the relationship between the characters further and push that angle.  As it stands now, it’s an average comic I’d have a hard time recommending.
