Short Stories – A Dead Good Friend

a dead good friend

Rating: 4/5 – Excellent Short Noir Story.

This seems to be a webcomic with the idea that there will be a bunch of short stories in different genres. Only the first one is out so far, titled ‘A Dead Good Friend’, about a mob enforcer, and is six pages long.

What’s Awesome About It?
This webcomic accomplishes in six pages what most webcomics couldn’t do in sixty. People often associate bigger with better and for good reason – after all, if a story is good, more of that story is better! But there’s a certain beauty in brevity, and managing to tell a story well in a short space is often much harder than telling a long, sweeping epic.

A Dead Good Friend accomplishes a lot in its six pages. The art isn’t perfect, but the color palette and the panel composition and the panel design are all expertly crafted and add perfectly to the feel of a mob story. The writing does exactly what it needs to in its short space, and manages to get across emotion even in its short space. It’d be a shame to not spend the few minutes it takes to read this great little story.

My Thoughts
Usually, I refrain from reviewing comics with very small archives, but in this case I’m already eagerly awaiting more after only six! Check this one out and bookmark it for the future, because this is some good stuff, folks!
