Premise
A group of explorers sets out on a sky ship to explore distant lands, solve strange mysteries, and get into exciting adventures.

What’s Awesome About It?
As a tale of exploration and adventure, Anthinea accomplishes a lot in the 23 pages it has up so far. The art is solid and conveys the sense of action and exploration the story is going for. Although the comic isn’t too far along, the pacing is excellent, as the story moves along at a brisk pace with no unnecessary scenes. The characters are given succinct characterization and the story gets you straight to the action without feeling rushed.

The most notable negative feature of Anthinea is the grammar. Although not completely terrible, multiple and frequent instances of grammatical errors and awkward phrasings served to repeatedly pull me out of the story and sometimes render confusing what would otherwise be a well-put together scene. I suspect this stems from English being the author’s second language, but it’s still somewhat jarring.

My Thoughts
Despite the persistent grammatical errors and a few other minor issues with the site itself, the Explorers of Anthinea seems to be a good start to an exciting comic adventure. I look forward to seeing how the comic goes as it develops, and recommend checking it out, unless you’re the type who loses their mind whenever they spot a grammatical screw-up.
